Mike Vallely Elephant Skateboard Deck

Powell-Peralta re-issue decks are faithful reproductions of the iconic 1980’s originals, complete with the original top and bottom graphics, shape, and concave. These decks are manufactured in collaboration with our partner in Mexico, using high-quality materials such as U.S. hard rock maple and specially formulated glue that is guaranteed against delamination for the entire lifespan of the deck. The unique shape and graphics are meticulously crafted in our Santa Barbara, CA studio.

The story of these decks traces back to a Virginia Beach skateboarding contest where Neil Blender and Lance discovered a young talent named Mike Vallely. Impressed by his skills, they invited Mike to join the Powell-Peralta team, and he quickly became one of the most prominent street skaters of his time. Initially hesitant about the Roach graphic, Mike collaborated with legendary artist VCJ to develop an elephant-themed design that captivated skaters worldwide. The Mike Vallely elephant deck became a massive hit, propelling Mike to stardom.

Today, Mike Vallely is the founder of Street Plant, a completely independent, family-run business that embodies his ethos of "100% Independent Skateboarding for Love, for Fun." With a philosophy of no rules, no divisions, and no schools, Street Plant celebrates the freedom and creativity of skateboarding as a form of artistic expression. As Mike puts it, "Just a Skateboard as a Paintbrush and the World as an Empty Canvas. Skate. Create. Enjoy!"
