The Military Green beanie is inspired by the 1979 advertisement "Energy For An Empty Tank World". The art director, Craig Stecyk, designed a trade show booth in 1991 with a gas station theme, featuring vintage pumps, oil cans, and 200 hub caps. The Supreme graphic was originally created to decorate the pumps at the trade show. This graphic later continued to be used in advertising, as well as on T-shirts, sweatshirts, and stickers.
